En la vida de Frank Lloyd Wright
La vida entera1901
The first Prairie houses and the Ladies' Home Journal
His houses of 1900–1901, above all the Thomas and Willits houses, were the first mature examples of the Prairie Style. In the February and July issues of the Ladies' Home Journal Wright published “A Home in a Prairie Town” and “A Small House with Lots of Room in It”, and demand for such designs grew.
1903
Falls for Mamah Cheney
While designing a house for his Oak Park neighbour Edwin Cheney, Wright fell for his wife, Mamah Borthwick Cheney, an early feminist he regarded as his intellectual equal. Their rides through Oak Park in Wright's car became the talk of the town.
1905
Visits the Rinnō-ji temples in Japan
Wright visited the Rinnō-ji temple complex in Japan; its shrine-style layout probably inspired Unity Temple. A passionate Japanophile, he claimed to be “enslaved” by ukiyo-e prints, and for a time earned more from dealing in Japanese art than from architecture.
