“Drawing Series” at Dia:Beacon
Dia:Beacon displays “Drawing Series…”, devoted to his drawings of the 1970s: drafters and assistants draw directly on the walls in graphite, coloured pencil, crayon and chalk, following LeWitt's complex principles, which eliminated the limitations of the canvas in favour of more extensive constructions.

In 2006 the Bologna publisher Damiani brings out LeWitt’s book “Sol LeWitt: Wall Drawings”.
2007
A retrospective in Oberlin on the eve of his death
Shortly before his death — he died in New York of complications from cancer — LeWitt had just organized a retrospective of his work at the Allen Memorial Art Museum in Oberlin, Ohio.
