Le dieu Vishnu tient, dans ses quatre mains, ses attributs caractéristiques : le disque (chakra), la massue (gada), la conque marine (shankha) et le lotus (padma). Il chevauche sa monture, l'oiseau divin Garuda, qui apparaît sous une forme mi-humaine, mi-animale (ailes et bec) maîtrisant deux naga (serpents mythiques), eux-aussi anthropomorphes.
