About the work
Close-up view of the interior of a bivalve shell, oriented vertically. The central hinge runs from the top to the bottom of the image, dividing the two symmetrical halves. Deep, radial ridges extend outward from the hinge, curving slightly as they reach the shell’s outer edges. The surface texture appears glossy, with dramatic lighting emphasizing the layered, fan-like structure.
