Trengove made the 'Enclosures' series whilst living wild with rutting deer. His materials were those he found to hand - sharp sticks to incise lines on the paper, and deer droppings as pigment rubbed over it. These drawings resemble prehistoric cave paintings, designed to conjure up animal spirits and to connect with the natural world.
