Drowns while swimming off Cap Roquebrune

Le Corbusier, aged 77, drowned, probably of a heart attack, while swimming in the Mediterranean off Cap Roquebrune, where he lived in his tiny summer cabin, Le Cabanon. On 1 September the farewell at the Louvre was led by the Minister of Culture, André Malraux.
