May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
The identity of the sitter is not known, and Rupert Gunnis in his Dictionary of British Sculptors 1660-1851, does not mention this bust.
Hollins initially trained in Birmingham under his father, the architect William Hollins (1763-1843), but in about 1822 he went to London to work in the studio of Sir Francis Chantrey (1781-1841). He later set himself up in a studio that he shared with the Birmingham painter Harry Room. In 1835 Hollins travelled to Italy but in 1843, on the death of his father, he returned to the family business in Birmingham.
