About the sculpture

Bartolomeo Pinelli (1781-1835) was a famous Italian illustrator, and also painter, sculptor and a draughtsman, who towards the end of his life executed a number of terracotta groups and statuettes, the subjects taken from contemporary Roman folklore. The table in this group is a colossal Corinthian capital inverted.
