Op de binnenplaats van een herberg stelt een vrouw de verloren zoon, zittend met een viool in de hand, voor aan een andere jonge vrouw. De muren van de binneplaats zijn versierd met bogen en klassieke reliëfs. Links een staande man met een glas in de hand en een hondje bij zijn voeten.
