May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This relief depicting the Virgin and St. John standing to the right and left of Christ on the Cross, is made by an unknown artist in Florence in the second half of the 16th century.
There is a charming example of this relief in painted stucco with a landscape background in Berlin in the former Kaiser Friedrich Museum. The version in Berlin was initially associated with an anonymous Florentine master, later as a work of Benedetto da Majano. But the relief is not directly attributable to Benedetto da Majano.
