About the work

View of the ornately carved stone pillars in the Puthu Mandapa, a pavilion in the Meenakshi Amman or Minakshi Temple complex. Each pillar features several statues around it. Prominently visible on the right area of the image is the statue of King Thirumalai Nayak of Madurai's Nayak dynasty, under a canopy. Statues of female consorts and attendants can be seen adjacent to it.
