About the sculpture

Stephen Adisoffe, is shown in profile facing to the right, an elderly man with short waving hair. He is shown wearing a coat with a double collar and a high folded stock ruffled at the neck.

This wax was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1819. It is the work of Peter Rouw, a highly successful wax modeller who was appointed 'Sculptor & Modeller of Gems and Cameos to his Majesty (George III) in 1807.'
