May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
The Virgin and Child, limewood, the figure is seated looking stright forward. The Virgin wears a full jewelled cloak brought in stylised folds over her knees. On her head over a veil there is a jewelled crown decorated with four fleurs-de-lys. The baby Jesus is seated on her knee and her left hand rests on His shoulder while His right hand is raised in blessing. On either side of the throne between the legs there are two winged monsters.
