In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Stamvader Issachar, ten halven lijve, in de rechterhand een juk, aan zijn linkerzijde de kop van een ezel (verwijzingen naar Issachar als een 'sterke ezel' die 'zijn last droeg'). Op de achtergrond een huis of stal, een boom en een man bij een paard. Onder de voorstelling twee regels tekst in Latijn. Deze prent is onderdeel van een serie van twaalf stamvaders van |sraël; elke prent in deze serie bestaat uit een beeltenis van een stamvader, ten halven lijve, en een tweeregelig onderschrift in Latijn.
