    Three Guggenheim Fellowships in twenty years

    Between 1940 and 1959 Evans is awarded three Guggenheim Fellowships in Photography to continue his work of making record photographs of contemporary American subjects.

  2. 1945

    A staff writer at Time

    In 1945 Evans, a passionate reader and writer, becomes a staff writer at Time.

  3. after 1945 – 1965

    An editor at Fortune

    Shortly afterward Evans becomes an editor at Fortune, where he stays through 1965.
