About the sculpture
This statuette of a seated female figure is imitated from a Roman statue of the so-called "Agrippina" type.
Agrippina when marrying her third husband Claudio became Roman Empress and the most powerful woman in the Roman Empire.
Being a beautiful and reputable woman, she was described as 'ruthless, ambitious, violent and domineering'.
