Lot en Abraham bezaten zoveel vee dat er te weinig land was en de herders van Lot en de herders van Abram ruzie met elkaar kregen. Daarom doet Abraham aan Lot het voorstel om uit elkaar te gaan. Op de voorgrond nemen zij afscheid van elkaar en gaan ze ieder een andere kant op. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in Gen. 13.
