About the painting

In the museum's own words — in Russian

Пленэрный пейзаж. Этюд. Вид со склона холма. В нижней части этюда изображена извилистая быстрая горная речка с покрытыми травой берегами. Левый, более высокий, берег вдается в воду узким мысом. Посередине реки виден достаточно большой остров овальной формы, покрытый высокой травой (либо кустарником?). С берегами он соединен узкими деревянными мостками. На заднем плане изображены склоны сопок, резко ограничивающие глубину пространства. Колорит этюда построен на сочетании различных оттенков зеленого цвета с синими и фиолетовыми цветами воды.
