About the painting

Oval miniature painting mounted in a gold case. Portrait of a young woman wearing a light colored dress with a dark band across the middle. There are flowers on the left breast, right arm has what appears to be a ribbon wrapped around it. Hair is dark colored on sides and lighter towards top. Light brown hair, blue eyes, yellow dress with white neck and sleeves, purple sash and ribbons on sleeves, flowers are roses, light tan and brown background with some blue. Reverse side of case: brown hair under glass surrounded by a band of pearls. Outer band of wide blue enamel. Stripped blue and white enamel border studded with larger pearls.
