This bronze statuette placed on a marble base represents a putto and is made in South Germany in ca. 1550.
A putto is a motif representing chubby, sometimes winged and naked figures of little boys. They derive from Greco-Roman depictions of Eros. They were common in art from the Renaissance through to the 18th century.
