About the painting

Sophie Lienard was a French miniature painter who worked mainly in enamels. She exhibited at the French Salon in 1841, 1842, and 1845, and was commissioned portraits by Queen Victoria, Louis Philippe I, and Jerome Bonaparte, amongst others.
