About the work

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

De Israëlieten staan rond een tafel en eten haastig het lam. Met schoenen aan hun voeten, de lendelen omgord en stokken in hun handen zijn ze klaar om te vertekken uit hun ballingschap. Op de achtergrond wordt op de deurpost een teken met bloed aangebracht. Bijbelse voorstelling uit Ex. 12:1-27 met in de marge de titel van de voorstelling in zes talen.
