About the painting
Millicent Taplin (1902–1980) was a hand paintress at Wedgwood. She trained under Louise and Alfred Powell and would eventually head the hand-painting department at Wedgwood.
Her design "Strawberry Hill", that she designed together with Victor Skellern, was awarded the Council of Industrial Design's Design of the Year Award in 1957.
