About the work

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

In de lucht Boreas, de god van de noordenwind. Hij ontvoert Orithyia, een Atheense prinses. De winden Circius en Aquilo helpen hem. Boreas zorgt voor een woeste wind met storm en regen. Onderaan links vechten de argonauten tegen de harpijen. Rechts Orithyia en haar twee kinderen, de gevleugelde tweeling Zetes en Calaïs. In de marge een Latijns onderschrift met uitleg over de noordenwind.
