The first monograph on Braque
The first monograph on the artist appeared — Carl Einstein's book, published in Paris and New York.
1940–1950s
Lithographs at the Mourlot Studios
Most of the lithographs and book illustrations Braque made in the 1940s and 1950s were produced at Fernand Mourlot's studios; together with Matisse he is credited with introducing Picasso to Mourlot.
1945
A long illness after the war
Braque went through the Second World War with great difficulty, and in 1945 he was ill for a long time.
