About the work
This drawing depicts a coffee house as a Rococo fantasy. It was engraved by Johann Esaias Nilson, the finest of Augghsburg ornamentalists, in the same direction under the title Neues Caffeehaus, drawing upon the new fashionable taste for drinking coffe in the mid 18th century.
