She moves into a new studio on the island of Munsö, set up next to her summer house, Furuheim.

Meeting Steiner again in Dornach
Years after their first meeting Hilma sees Steiner again, at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, the headquarters of the Anthroposophical Society.

Meeting Peggy Kloppers-Moltzer
In Dornach Hilma meets the Dutch eurythmist Peggy Kloppers-Moltzer, also a member of the Anthroposophical Society. She later travels to Amsterdam to discuss a possible exhibition with the editors of the magazine Wendingen, but the talks come to nothing.

Friendship with Thomasine Andersson
After her mother's death Hilma shares a flat with Thomasine Andersson, her mother's nurse; the two remain friends for the rest of their lives.

Death of her mother
Hilma's mother, Mathilda af Klint (née Sonntag), dies. The artist then changes her place of residence.
1920–1930
Long stays in Dornach
With Thomasine Andersson, Hilma spends much of the decade in Dornach, studying the archives of the Anthroposophical Society in search of the meaning of her paintings (other accounts date the visits from 1921). From 1920 her works show the influence of the society's artistic theories.
