About the work

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Op een lange, smalle strook is aan de rechterkant de god Mahavira als asceet afgebeeld; de linkerkant bevat een tekst in Oud-Indisch schrift in rood en zwart, de bovenste en onderste regel in een kleiner schrift. Op verso meer tekst op dezelfde manier; aan weerszijden een smalle onbeschreven kolom; een grote rode stip is in het midden van de strook geplaatst. Tweederde tekstkolom op recto, eenderde voorstelling; verso: tekst; brede rode penseellijn langs tekst en voorstelling, een rode stippen in midden van strook; ook op verso tekst en drie stippen.
