In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Links op een troon zit een koning wiens domheid wordt getoond door zijn ezelsoren. Zijn adviseurs zijn Laster, Bedrog, Afgunst en Woede. Achter de troon staat Minerva om hem tegen te houden. Rechts een kunstenaar die onder valse voorwendsels door de koning veroordeeld zou worden. Hij wordt vergezeld door de naakte Waarheid en de god Mercurius.
