In the museum's own words — in Dutch
Eustachius verschijnt onderweg in het bos een hert met een crucifix in het gewei. Eustachius draagt de kleding van een Romeinse soldaat. Hij stapt van zijn paard en knielt in aanbidding voor het hert.
