Leading the Salon des Indépendants: Fauves and Cubists
In 1908 Signac is elected president of the Twenty-fourth Salon des Indépendants and heads the Société des Artistes Indépendants until his death. He supports young artists and gives the Fauves and the Cubists a chance to exhibit their controversial works.

Antibes: moving in with Jeanne Selmersheim-Desgrange
In September 1913 Signac rents a house at Antibes and takes up residence there with Jeanne Selmersheim-Desgrange; their daughter Ginette is born on October 2. He leaves La Hune and the Castel Béranger apartment to Berthe, and they remain friends for the rest of his life.
