About the work

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Krishna zit op een schelpvormige troon en houdt in zijn rechterhand een lotusbloem, terwijl zijn linkerhand rust op een bolvormige scepter die tussen zijn gevouwen benen op een bloemvormig blad in de schelp staat; achter hem zijn nog twee armen die zeevruchten in de hand hebben. De voorstelling is verdeeld in twee horizontale vlakken, het onderste deel met de bodem van de schelp heeft een lichtgroene ondergrond, het bovendeel met de opstaande rand van de schelp is niet ingekleurd; Krishna is in blauw met een rozerode sjerp en wat kleine rozerode accenten op onderdelen en attributen; het geheel is gevat in een grijs kaderlijntje.
