About the work

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

“Het flightsimmen is zeer verslavend”. Toen Jordy voor zijn twaalfde verjaardag twee uur vliegen op de flightsimulator van Bram cadeau kreeg, was hij verkocht. De volgende dag schafte hij direct een yoke en pedalen aan. Elk vrij uurtje was hij achter zijn flightsimulator te vinden. Flightsimmen is namelijk zeer verslavend. Na eerst voornamelijk op een 737-800 gevlogen te hebben, vindt Jordy het nu leuker om met een Cessna 172 te vliegen. Die vliegt lager en moet meer met de hand bediend worden dan de 737. Er is minder sprake van programmeren en van vliegen op de autopilot. Momenteel volgt Jordy de studie Lucht- en Ruimtevaarttechniek aan de TU in Delft en houdt daarom minder tijd over voor zijn hobby.
