The whole life1923
Meeting Irene Hecht
Bayer met photographer Irene Hecht at the first major Bauhaus exhibition in Weimar.
1925
Head of the Bauhaus print workshop
Bayer took charge of the Bauhaus printing and advertising workshop in Dessau and designed the school’s publications.
1928
Art director at Vogue
Bayer became art director of the German edition of Vogue.
1937
Works in the Degenerate Art exhibition
Bayer’s work was included in the Nazi propaganda exhibition Degenerate Art. He subsequently left Germany and traveled in Italy.
1938
Bauhaus at MoMA
Bayer and Walter Gropius designed the Bauhaus 1918–1928 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
1946
A move to Aspen
Hired by businessman and patron Walter Paepcke, Bayer moved from New York to Aspen.
