Weergave van het eerste intermezzo tijdens de uitvoering van het toneelstuk 'La Pellegrina' van Girolamo Bargagli: De sferen zitten en staan in rijen op wolken. Voor de zes intermezzi van Giovanni de'Bardi werden de machines en kostuums ontworpen door Bernardo Buontalenti. Deze uitvoering was ter gelegenheid van het huwelijk van Ferdinando I de'Medici en Christina van Lotharingen in 1589.
