In the museum's own words — in Dutch

De heilige Epiphanius [van Pavia?] staat voor een schrijftafel in een studeervertrek met zijn handen gevouwen in gebed. Op de tafel zijn bisschopsmijter, een inktpot, en een boek. Hij kijkt op naar het goddelijke licht dat van boven schijnt. In de marge een Bijbelcitaat uit Sir. 44 in het Latijn.
