De heilige Bartolomeüs staat tussen twee zuilen in een architecturale omlijsting. Onder zijn arm houdt hij een boek, in zijn hand een mes. Op de achtergrond een gezicht op een heuvelachtig landschap. In het kader onderaan een tweeregelig onderschrift in het Latijn.
