Elected to the American Philosophical Society
A year after his election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Trumbull becomes a member of the American Philosophical Society.
1794
Secretary to John Jay at the treaty talks in London
Trumbull acts as secretary to John Jay during the negotiation of the treaty with Great Britain, which largely settled the boundary with Canada and began cotton export to the country.
