    A proposal for Fairmount Park

    The Fairmount Park Art Association invites him to propose a public artwork for a site in the park. He chooses the long, rectangular plot known as the Reilly Memorial and submits a drawing with instructions: flower plantings in four colours — white, yellow, red and blue — in rows running in four directions, framed by low evergreen hedges.
