Geometria, een vrouw met een stedenkroon op haar hoofd, meet op een globe de afstand tussen twee punten met een passer. Twee mannen kijken met haar mee. Op de grond liggen meetinstrumenten en boeken. Een pad en een slang proberen langs de ronding van de globe omhoog te klimmen. Op de achtergrond ruïnes van antieke gebouwen.

    Return to Italy: Venice, Bologna, Rome

    Having returned from Italy to the Netherlands, Cort left again for Venice shortly after 1567, and from there traveled to Bologna and Rome, where he engraved after the paintings of the great masters of the time.

    Lampsonius's Letter to Titian

    Cort's connection with Cock and Titian is illustrated by a letter of 1567 from Dominicus Lampsonius of Liège addressed to Titian, in which Cock is named as Cort's teacher.
