Compoziție la malul oceanului, cu femeie așezată pe iarbă, citind. Este figurată din profil spre stânga. Poartă bluză albă cu mâneci lungi bufante, fustă largă de călătorie și pe cap pălărie canotieră de pai. În spate o umbrelă albă de soare. Atmosferă meditativă, de factură simbolistă exprimată prin tușe fine vibrate. Cromatică delicată, predominant rece. Semnat dreapta jos cu brun: M. Simonidy. Localizat și datat stânga jos cu brun: Tréport / -96-.
