Moving to Capel-y-ffin
The Gill family leaves Ditchling for a disused monastery at Capel-y-ffin in the Black Mountains of Wales.

Workshops at Pigotts
Gill and his family move to Pigotts in Buckinghamshire. Stables and barns are converted into studios, workshops, and rooms for printing presses.

Reliefs in Jerusalem
Gill and Lawrence Cribb travel to Jerusalem to work at the Palestine Archaeological Museum. They carve reliefs and a fountain in the inner courtyard.
