The whole life
  1. 1894–1918

    Heads the life-drawing class at the Moscow school

    From 1894 until 1918 Arkhipov headed the life-drawing class of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture; many well-known artists of the first half of the twentieth century — S. V. Gerasimov, B. V. Ioganson, M. S. Saryan and others — were proud to have been his pupils. He himself never married and had no children, but his style and traditions were continued by a close relative, Boris Viktorovich Pyrikov.

  2. 1918–1920

    Reorganisation of the school; teaching at the State Free Art Studios

    After the October Revolution Arkhipov took part in the reorganisation of the school, and from 1918 to 1920 he taught at the State Free Art Studios (GSKhM).

  3. 1922–1924

    Teaches at Vkhutemas

    From 1922 to 1924 Arkhipov taught at Vkhutemas.

  4. 1924

    Joins the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia

    In 1924 Arkhipov became a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AKhRR).

  5. 1927

    Named People’s Artist of the Republic

    In 1927 Arkhipov was named People’s Artist of the Republic (RSFSR).

  6. 25 September 1930
