Watercolour exhibitions in England and the United States
Ruskin occasionally exhibits his own distinctive watercolours: in 1878 at the Fine Art Society in England, and in 1879 at the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour, of which he is an honorary member, and again in the United States (as in 1857–58).

Resigns his Oxford chair
