About the work

Original sketch for Punch Magazine by William Kerridge Haselden (1872-1953), showing Miss Marie Löhr and Mr Arthur Fear in a scene from Casanovaat the Coliseum, 1 June 1932.

The run of the production came to an end in January of 1933. On the final night a fight occured between the two actors who had shared the leading role during the eight month run and Mr Charles Mayhew and Mr Arthur Fear both competed to appear in costume during the last curtain call. The dramatic quarrel was widely reported on by the press at the time.
