Sophie Fedorovitch delighted in drawing dancers from the time in about 1922 she visited Enrico Cecchetti's studio in London. This was where she met Marie Rambert leading to her career as a stage designer. Fedorovitch is also described as sketching dancers during rehearsals for Ida Rubinstein's Company in Paris 1928 and drwe these during rehearsals for Symphonic Variations. Fedorovitch preferred to sit in on rehearsals to get a feel of a ballet before beginning to design it.
