A drawing of a small junk with an 'eye' painted near the bows; its central sail is set, and a small open boat lies alongside. The partial inscription indicates that the location is Whampoa (Huangpu), the Western merchant ships' anchorage a dozen miles downriver from the city of Canton (Guangzhou).
