Pen and ink drawing of the actor/manager Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905) by Alfred Bryan (1852-1899). Irving is standing beside a peepshow labelled 'Lyceum Show' in which there are circular peep-holes labelled 'Becket' and 'King Lear'. The drawing is likely to date from 1892 as this is the year that Irving took the title role in the Lyceum production of Shakespeare's King Lear.
