De jonge prins Actaeon stuit in het bos op de grot waar Diana met haar nimfen een bad neemt. Omdat hij haar naakt heeft gezien verandert Diana hem als straf onmiddellijk in een hert. Actaeon heft verbaasd zijn armen.
