In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Trapvormig bouwwerk vol mensen en dieren. Links vooraan ligt een baby in een bedje, rechts zit een grijsaard met zijn benen bungelend boven een open graf. Bij de baby begint een 'leeftijdentrap', die van wieg tot graf tien treden telt, tien levensfasen. Bij elke leeftijd is een beest te zien dat die fase typeert: het jongetje van tien heeft een springerig bokje bij zich, de veertiger is nobel en verstandig als een leeuw, de vijftiger slim als een vos en de tachtigjarige zit op een trage ezel. Aan de 'jonge' kant van de trap staat een boom vol in blad, met vogels en muziekinstrumenten. Aan de 'oude' kant hangen brillen en krukken in een kale boom. Gedrukt van twee blokken op twee bladen, aan elkaar bevestigd.
